INDIA specific maruti suzuki ertiga scores 1 star in gncap ? why unsafe cars ?

Recently, Maruti Ertiga was re -tested in global NCAP’s strict and updated crash test, previously when ertiga was tested in GNCAP it scored 3 stars but now due to strictness and utmost priority to safety in the updated gncap, Ertiga scored only 1 star .

In the previous test, adult passenger got 3 stars but now its watered down to 1 star only and structure was rated as border line unstable as per GNCAP. Passenger pretensioner also failed to work properly and the child occupant rating also fell from 3 stars to 2 stars .

In today’s time, its very clear that there is a good percentage of citizens who are giving priority to safety and 2 domestic Indian brands Tata and Mahindra are producing some of the safest cars in India in their respective segments and somehow we believe that its a moral duty of auto manufacturers to ensure the safety of their customers .
